Provision of dedicated spaces for dogs forms an integral part how Council manages domestic animal ownership across the community so we are developing a plan to guide the future form and function of our off leash dog parks across the city.
Canterbury-Bankstown has a rapidly growing population and with that pet ownership is likely to increase. We want to make sure that our Off Leash Dog Parks meet the needs and expectations of our community.
An off leash dog park commonly known as a ‘dog park’ is a dedicated public open space designed for dog owners to legally exercise their dogs off leash in a secure, social and responsible environment.
We also recognise that a trip to the dog park provides a healthy outdoor activity with as many benefits for humans as well as our pets.
The exhibition period for the Off Leash Dog Park Action Plan is from 18 December to 5pm, Wednesday 15 January 2019.
