Background

On 28 June 2023, a Development Application was lodged to Council (DA-683/2023) at 85 Burbank Avenue, Picnic Point. This application is a Nominated Integrated DevelopmentNominated Integrated Development is development (not being threatened species development or Class 1 aquaculture development) that requires an approval (within Section 90A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979) under a provision of the Water Management Act 2000. and requires the issuing of a controlled activity approvalControlled activities refer to work or action done on waterfront land, as defined by the Water Management Act 2000. These activities must be designed in a way to protect our waterways and ensure minimal harm as a result of the work carried out on the land. A controlled activity approval is required before undertaking any work or development on waterfront land if an exemption does not apply. from the Department of Planning and Environment (Water) and may require an aquifer interference approval Aquifer interference approvals are not to be granted unless the Minister is satisfied that adequate arrangements are in force to ensure that no more than minimal harm will be done to any water source, or its dependent ecosystems, as a consequence of its being interfered with in the course of the activities to which the approval relates. from Water NSW, under the Water Management Act 2000.

This proposal

  • Construction of a Jetty into the Georges River behind No. 85 Burbank Avenue, Picnic Point.
