Background

The City of Canterbury Bankstown's Community Strategic Plan, CBCIty 2036, highlights the community's desire for a city that is healthy and active, with parks and open spaces available to all. This includes off-leash dog parks, which provide a controlled environment where dogs can exercise and play under the supervision of their owners.

Council has a vision to provide quality, accessible off-leash dog parks which balance the needs of all open space users.

We are seeking your feedback on the extension of the dog off-leash area in Hughes Park.all feedback or comments regarding the design will be considered for change.

This proposal

This project proposes an upgrade to Hughes Park dog off-leash area which includes:

  • An expansion of the dog off-leash area from 2300m² to 4200m²
  • New facilities for dogs including agility equipment
  • A drinking fountain with dog bowl
  • More shade trees
  • Additional seating
