Background

Goondah Reserve is located in Bura / Bass Hill Ward and bordered by Coolalie, Goondah, Kungala and Yunga Burra Streets in Villawood. The Reserve is home to a range of recreational facilities and Council has begun planning an exciting new playground and upgraded open space.

At the April 2022 Council Meeting, Council resolved to submit an application under the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program (formerly known as the WestInvest Program) for the delivery of this project. This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program and Canterbury-Bankstown Council.

The beginning of 2024, saw the closure of the Wran Leisure and Aquatic Centre. Decommissioning and remediation of the site have been completed and we are now designing an attractive, engaging, and inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.

Previous Engagement was undertaken in late 2023 where we received input from the community on what you would like to see in the new park. Council have listened and this feedback has been incorporated into the design which is now available for further community input.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas for the design.

Goondah Reserve will be home to a new Play Level 1 - Destination playground. This is the highest level of playground and equipment Council provides; nearby examples of Play Level 1 playgrounds include:
