Background

During earlier community consultation in August – September 2025, Council sought community feedback on the proposed four-hour (4P) timed parking restrictions along the front of Tasker Park on Philips Avenue.

The proposed 4P timed parking restrictions received mixed feedback from the local community, with 50% of submissions not in support of the proposal. As a result, Council’s Traffic Services Unit have undertaken further investigation and Council is now seeking feedback on an alternative proposal, which is that only motor vehicles under six metres long can park there.

The proposal

Council is considering no parking zones for vehicles over six metres long, known as ‘No Parking Motor Vehicles Under 6m Excepted’ along the front of Tasker Park. Council is proposing to trial this for six months.

This aims to prevent vehicles longer than 6m in length and/or non-motorised vehicles that cannot be self-propelled on a roadway, particularly large trucks, trailers, caravans and boats from being parked at these locations. This will help improve the vibrancy and accessibility of the surrounding public amenities.
