Consultation has concluded

Council invites you to have your say on revised planning proposal for the site at Nos. 83-99 North Terrace and 62 The Mall in Bankstown.

What are the intended outcomes of the planning proposal?

The intended outcome of the planning proposal is to provide an alternative development control regime which may allow development to achieve the maximum building envelope (i.e. 83 metre building height, 5:1 FSR and dwellings on the first floor) if the development provides a Council administration building and associated car parking as well as a high standard of architectural, urban and landscape design to the satisfaction of Council. Otherwise the current controls would continue to apply.

The planning proposal applies to the site at Nos. 83-99 North Terrace and 62 The Mall in Bankstown is shown in Figure 1.

What is being exhibited?

In July 2017, Council resolved to exhibit the revised planning proposal for the site. The revised planning proposal includes the following changes:

  • Part 2 of the planning proposal: Amend the proposed provision that requires development to provide public benefits if it is to achieve the maximum building envelope controls by deleting the reference to clause 4.4A of Bankstown LEP 2015.
  • Part 3 of the planning proposal: Update the strategic justification to make reference to the State Government’s Draft South District Plan and Draft Sydenham to Bankstown Urban Renewal Corridor Strategy.
