The Campsie Town Centre DCP aims to ensure new housing, public spaces and commercial development opportunities in Campsie contribute toward building a future town centre that our community will love.

The DCP provides the following design and planning guidelines for future developments:

  • Setting distinct future character areas in the Campsie Town Centre
  • The locations for a new cycling network, lanes and pedestrian links
  • Design guidance on building envelopes such as street wall heights, setbacks and building separation
  • Minimum landscaping requirements including canopy coverage
  • Requirements for flood affected sites to be designed in a way that maintains the safety of occupants and during flood events
  • A vision for new civic and open green spaces that will be located on private land, for public access, as new development occurs on certain sites
  • Identifying and establishing design principles for the redevelopment of major ‘key’ sites that have the potential to transform large areas of the Campsie Town Centre
  • Minimising urban heat island effect by effective building design

If adopted by Council, these changes will apply to all new Development Applications in the Campsie Town Centre experiencing change under this planning proposal.
