Background

Transport for NSW is funding upgrades around East Hills Station precinct to make it feel safer and more welcoming for everyone.

Council is planning upgrades around East Hills Station precinct to make it feel safer and more welcoming for everyone. CBCIty has been successfully awarded a reVITALise — Public Transport Precinct Vibrancy Grant, funded by Transport for NSW.

The reVITALise–Public Transport Precinct Vibrancy Grant will transform East Hills station by supporting place-specific and complementary initiatives to improve the vibrancy, safety, and connectivity of the transport hub precinct.

Before we create a plan for this area, we want to know what you think would benefit the community and help encourage more people to walk, cycle and catch public transport.

This proposal

CBCity has secured funding from Transport for NSW to significantly improve the surrounding area of East Hills station, including the town centre. Enhancements will be installed within approximately 200 meters of the station. This project aims to transform the station precinct into a safer, more welcoming, and vibrant hub for the community.

The project will achieve this by focusing on:

  • Increased vibrancy, by creating a more attractive and engaging public space. Specific improvements could include:
    • Public artwork: such as paintings and murals that reflect the community of East Hills.
    • Comfortable seating and furniture: providing more places to rest and relax.
    • Landscaping and green space: adding greenery and creating a more pleasant environment.
  • Improved safety:
    • Improvements that prioritise pedestrian safety and overall security.
    • Better connectivity: Upgrades that improve how people move through and around the station.
    • Enhanced lighting: Improving visibility and safety, especially at night.

Your input matters:

We want to ensure upgrades meet the needs of the community. Your feedback will be used to develop a concept design for the improvements.

Let us know your thoughts by filling out the survey below so we can create a successful and community-focused project.
