Session 1: In-person
Monday 16 September, 10am - 12pm
Bryan Brown Theatre and Function Centre, Bankstown
CBCity is creating a new set of rules called a Social Justice Charter to make sure everyone in our community feels safe and included. We want to make sure that everyone, no matter where they come from or what they believe, has the same chances to succeed.
This new charter will help us address any problems that might be unfair to some people and make sure everyone feels like they belong. We hope this will bring us closer together as a community and make sure that everyone's voice is important. We need to talk to people in our community to make sure our Social Justice Charter is helpful for everyone. Since we have so many different kinds of people here, it's important to hear everyone's ideas.
By talking to people, we can find out what problems they're facing, like trouble with language or getting help from the government. This will help us make sure the charter is really useful and addresses everyone's needs.
Talking to people also helps them feel like they have a say in what happens in our community. This will make everyone feel more connected and happy, and it will help us create a fairer place for everyone to live.
The development of the Social Justice Charter is an action in CBCity 2025, our annual Operational Plan and aligns with the Safe and Strong destination in our Community Strategic Plan.
CBCity has engaged Spark & Co and The Planning Studio as consultants to assist in the development of the Social Justice Charter. Spark & Co are leading the community engagement and have already engaged with a number of community sector networks and community groups. We will be holding community consultations sessions in September, including a session specifically for children.
