Background

The people of Canterbury-Bankstown helped to create the Vision for the City to be Thriving, Dynamic and Real.

To deliver the Vision, you told us you wanted Canterbury-Bankstown to be:

Safe & Strong

SAFE AND STRONG
A proud, inclusive community that unites, celebrates and cares.

Clean and green

CLEAN AND GREEN
A cool, clean and sustainable city with healthy waterways and natural areas.

PROSPEROUS AND INNOVATIVE
A smart and evolving city with exciting opportunities for investment and creativity.

MOVING AND INTEGRATED
An accessible city with great local destinations and many options to get there.

HEALTH AND ACTIVE
A motivated city that nurtures healthy minds and bodies.

LIVEABLE AND DISTINCTIVE
A well-designed, attractive city which preserves the identity and character of local villages.

LEADING AND ENGAGED
A well-governed city with brave and future-focused leaders who listen.

Government agencies, residents, ratepayers, businesses and community organisations all have a role in bringing this Vision to reality and the Community Strategic Plan - CBCity 2036 details what will be done and how success will be measured.

Council’s responsibilities in achieving the aspirations of CBCity 2036 are detailed in CBCity 2025 which contains the 2022-25 Delivery Program, 2023/24 draft Operational Plan, 2023/24 Budget, and the schedule of Fees and Charges. Accompanying long-term plans for assets and finance are detailed in the revised Asset Management Strategy and revised Financial Management Strategy.

This exhibition

CBCity 2025, comprising Council’s revised 2022-25 Delivery Program and draft 2023/24 Operational Plan, is now on public exhibition along with the revised Asset Management Strategy and the revised Financial Management Strategy.

These documents help to understand Council’s response to CBCity 2036. They:

  • identify our priorities;
  • detail the strategies and actions for which we will be responsible;
  • provide detailed budget and funding allocations;
  • show the important Council projects and works happening in the City or in your suburb; and
  • show how we will measure our performance and report back to the community on our progress.

The draft 2023/24 Operational Plan also contains detailed information on the Budget, Revenue Policy, and Schedule of Fees and Charges for 2023/24 financial year.
