The City of Canterbury Bankstown Economic Development Strategic Plan 2020-2025 will provide the framework for how Council can promote and support our thriving city centres. The strategy will focus on continuing our dynamic growth, making real changes to create incredible opportunities for local businesses, strengthening our local economy, and continuing to improve the lives of its residents.

We are proud of our close working relationships with the local business community. Together we are working to develop strategies that promote our regional strengths and create opportunities with a strong commercial focus. We are dedicated to preserving our uniquely diverse employment landscape and the jobs it provides for our city.

The City of Canterbury Bankstown Economic Development Strategic Plan 2020-2025 champions the following:

• Position our region as Sydney’s Connected City;
• Position our region as Sydney’s Place of Opportunity;
• Revitalise the Bankstown CBD and other centres;
• Increase employment opportunities;
• Encourage entrepreneurial and creative solutions; and
• Providing opportunities for our residents in the form of education and training.

Our guiding principles are to become a destination city with distinct neighbourhoods and an ambitious economy filled with opportunity to drive our position as Sydney’s Connected City.
