17 January 2023

The exciting new Greenacre Splash Park is set to transform Greenacre into a “bucket list” family destination! It’s a first of its kind in Canterbury-Bankstown, with unique water features for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The free-entry, all-abilities Splash Park offers a stunning water wonderland, with a “fun-tastic” variety of water and spray play activities. Make a splash by testing the unique bespoke play tower and the giant group swing! The whole family will love trying out Australia’s first mega splash 4-dump bucket!

Greenacre Splash Park has been officially opened by Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Asfour, who has praised the family-friendly facility as being yet another reason to visit Greenacre.

“Also bound to be a hit with families are the BBQs, kiosk and change facilities – all within a picturesque open space with family shelters. Come along and join in on the fun!”

Fun Fact

The Greenacre Splash Park is based on the indigenous story of Tiddalik the Frog. Tiddalik, the largest frog ever known, awoke one morning with a huge thirst. He started to drink – and he drank until there was no fresh water in the world. Soon, creatures were dying and trees wilting because of the lack of moisture.

At the Greenacre Splash Park, the main buckets fill up as though they are Tiddalik; the water is then dumped onto the splash pad to run throughout the water park. This activity is to symbolise the ending of the story when Tiddalik laughed, and water returned to all the world once more.
