Background

In 2021, the Night Time Economy Action Plan 2021-2026 identified Canterbury-Bankstown as the 8th largest economy in NSW. Canterbury-Bankstown has one of the largest (and growing) populations in NSW and the second highest number of registered businesses in the State. Approximately 20% of all employment in Canterbury-Bankstown was linked to the night time economy with more than 7,000 local businesses trading and contributing.

This proposal

At a previous Ordinary meeting, Council decided to undertake community consultation to help identify possible areas to support late night trading and how any impacts could be managed for our residents.

Whether you are a resident, business owner or just love the area, we want to know which areas you think could host more night time activities to enjoy throughout the year.

Let us know where and how we can support businesses to make our City a vibrant, welcoming and diverse after-dark area.

Night time activities can refer to anything that happens in Canterbury-Bankstown between 6pm-6am. That includes informal social activities, safety, dining out, shopping, transport, events, arts and cultural activities.

Where are your favourite night time areas?
