Consultation has concluded
Residents and families want homes that are easy to enter, easy to navigate in and around, and designed to meet their changing needs of family members over their lifetime.
Council recognises these needs and is looking at options to make new homes easier to use for seniors, people with temporary injuries, families with young children, and people with disabilities and their families.
As a first step, Council invites you to have your say on the Livable Housing Discussion Paper about making new homes more tailored to ageing–in–place and changing lifestyle circumstances. Options include increasing the proportion of new homes with bedrooms on the ground floor, wider doorways, and larger spaces in kitchens and bathrooms to make it easier to move around.
Printed copies of the discussion paper can be viewed at the Bankstown and Campsie Customer Service Centres.
Exhibition Period
The exhibition period for the Livable Housing Discussion Paper is from 16 October to 5pm, Friday 22 November 2019.
