Background

Council is proposing minor town centre upgrades at Church Rd, Yagoona, to provide pedestrian safety when crossing the busy intersection at Church Rd and the Hume Highway.

Upgrades include a refuge island to improve safety, as well as a new brick feature wall and landscaping works to brighten up the area and match the public domain style of the current Yagoona commercial area.

This proposal

Proposed works include the following:

  • A new pedestrian refuge island;
  • A new feature brick wall at the corner of Church Rd/Hume Hwy along the boundary of property no.550;
  • An upgrade to the road pavement, footpath, kerb ramps and driveways on both sides up to Breasley Pl;
  • A new garden bed, bus shelter, seats, and bins;
  • Associated street and traffic signage and linemarking works; and
  • Garden bed planting and new mulching in private property no.550.
