Bankstown City Gardens - Livvi's Place Bankstown

3 August 2016

Substantial progress has been made with the construction of the Changing Places Toilet Amenity at Bankstown City Gardens. The building construction is well underway and the shape and form of the building is apparent in the landscape. The building nestles amongst the existing trees and the breezeway through the centre of the roof pitch allows sightlines through.

The description ‘Changing Places’ refers to the Victorian movement of the same name who are advocating for better toilet amenity conditions for our disabled community. Check out their profile at: www.changingplaces.org.au

Council worked closely with our own special schools, parents and carers, Disability Advisory Committee and Access Consultants, to ensure we met the design standards to meet our Community’s special needs, and enable the amenity to be on the ‘Changing Places’ register.

The building is due to be completed in August, weather permitting.
