Background

A new Plan of Management has been developed for Mirambeena Regional Park to guide future management and improvements.

The plan is required under the Local Government Act 1993 and Crown Land Management Act 2016 providing detail of the land use, management objectives, development and monitoring of the land under Council ownership or control.

The plan applies to the six reserves that make up the regional park including Garrison Point, Lake Gillawarna, Flinders Slopes, Shortland Brush, Landsdowne and Amaroo Reserves.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, face-to-face engagement is on hold. We invite you to have your say by providing your feedback below.

This proposal

This plan of Management for Mirambeena Regional Reserve aims to:

  • Fulfill Council’s statutory obligations in respect to public land management under the requirements of the Local Government Act 1993;
  • Maximise the passive and active recreational opportunities of the site;
  • Manage the natural areas of ecological, aesthetic, recreational, educational, and scientific values;
  • Provide a framework and maximise opportunities for sustainable, long-term management of the community and Crown land; and
  • Be a resource for both Council staff and the public regarding the potential leasing and licensing at the site.
