Project Updates and Next Steps

Council’s submission to the NSW Government Transport TOD Program and Alternative Approach for Punchbowl and Wiley Park was endorsed as a resolution of Council during the Ordinary meeting on 17 June 2025.

For more details, please see the 17 June 2025 meeting agenda (item 6.1, pages 55-73) and minutes (item 6.1, pages 5-7) or access these details directly in the document library below.

In accordance with the resolution, Council has submitted the urban design and planning reports as well as supporting studies to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI). We’ve also made some minor recommendations for items that required further investigation and design analysis on to the NSW Government. You can access the reports and supporting studies here.

What's next?

We’ll provide further updates on the project once we’ve received advice from the NSW Government on our alternative approach.

We’ll also share more information on what we heard in Punchbowl and Wiley Park to show how your feedback has shaped the project.

Council will now prepare and exhibit draft amendments to its Development Control Plan and Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan for Punchbowl and Wiley Park. These plans will provide more detailed guidelines for new development and help deliver local infrastructure outcomes in Punchbowl and Wiley Park.

Once these amendments have been prepared, the community will have a further chance to provide feedback on these amendments and have their say.
