Background

Earlwood Bardwell Park RSL Ltd, (“the Club”) trading as “EBP Sports” operate from the premises at 134 Woolcott Street Earlwood in Budjar/Canterbury Ward. The premises are owned by Council and for the purposes of the Local Government Act 1993, the land comprising the premises is classified as community land

The site is bounded by Woolcott Street, Doris Avenue Earlwood Oval and Spark Street. It includes a club premises, two bowling greens and 2 separate car parking areas.

EBP Sports currently operate from the premises under the final option term of a lease granted by Council that commenced in 2015. That lease’s final option term expires on 31 May 2025.

The Club has requested a new 5 year lease (commencing from 1 June 2025) containing provision for one option for a further 5 year term.

Public notice

At the Ordinary meeting on 12 September 2023, Council authorised the public exhibition of the following proposal to grant a new lease to the Club.

Permitted Use:

Sports Club comprising Club premises, two lawn-bowls greens, car parking areas and surrounds.

Term:

Five (5) years with a possible additional option for a further five (5) years.

Lessee:

Earlwood Bardwell Park RSL Club Ltd, trading as EBP Sports

Submission:

The proposal will remain on public exhibition for a period of 28 days until Monday 23 October 2023, and submissions from members of the public on the proposal are invited. Any submissions made and received by Council by 5.00pm on Monday 23 October 2023 are eligible for consideration by Council.
