Consultation has concluded

Background

Each year Council seeks to improve the safety on our roads by seeking funding from Federal and State Government programs. The projects target those road locations where crashes are occurring or areas with a high crash risk.

There has been community concern raised regarding vehicles speeding along Alcoomie Street, Villawood.

This proposal

Council has identified that this location would benefit from seven (7) speed humps being installed on Alcoomie Street from Belar Avenue to Lowana Street to create a safer environment for traffic and pedestrian movements. Funding has been allocated by Transport for NSW to construct the speed humps.

This project is in line with Council’s vision of a ‘moving and integrated’ City, whereby we are improving the movement around our City for all users whilst also being a ‘safe and strong’ City.
