Consultation has concluded

Background

Council is proposing improvements to the area at house number 106, including adding a new bus stop outside the house.

This plan aligns with the city council's standards (drawing S-017, Type 2) and is part of a larger project to create a new footpath along Shorter Avenue from Karne Street North to Penshurst Road.

This proposal

Currently, there's an outdated bus stop sign on a pole that needs to be taken down, and there's no proper bus stop area. Our proposal includes removing the old sign and establishing a designated bus zone with new signage.

Additionally, we're planning to install a concrete bus pad, which is a levelled platform for passengers. This pad will make it easier and safer for people to get on and off the bus, especially those with mobility challenges, by providing a stable surface for boarding and alighting.
