Consultation has concluded

Background

Council continues to work on improving safety for pedestrians and drivers across our wide local government area. However, with demands on all our services continuing to grow and limited funding available, prioritisation is provided to locations where speed data and official TfNSW injury/crash information can support expenditure of these funds. Council also works collaboratively with Federal and State Government departments to obtain possible grant funding through various road safety programs.

A grant submission for the 2024/2025 Federal Black Spot program is currently being considered by Council for Wellington Road between Woods Road and Auburn Road.

This proposal

Recorded accident history in the last five years indicates six crashes on Wellington Road, the most of them related to speeding. To mitigate those crashes, Council is proposing the installation of traffic calming devices near Hill Road and Gascoigne Road. Note that speed humps are not appropriate for Wellington Road due to its current speed limit of 60km/h.

As part of this proposal, statutory No Stopping restrictions at intersections will be signposted.

The proposal will result in loss of 22 on-street parking spaces; 14 on the northern side and 8 on the southern side. No parking would be lost outside the residential properties.
