20 December 2024

Thanks for having your say!

Thank you for having your say on the Draft Bankstown City Centre Development Control Plan (DCP).

We engaged with you on this draft plan through our Have Your Say website as well as letters sent to 13,971 landowners and residents within the Bankstown City Centre.

During the consultation period we received a total of 20 written submissions. Of these submissions:

  • 95% (19 submissions) either supported fully or partially, suggested changes to or made general comments regarding the DCP or raised concerns beyond the scope of the draft DCP.
  • 5% (1 submission) opposed the draft DCP.

Key topics raised included parking, the design of streets and public spaces and building storey heights.

In response to your feedback, we have made some changes to the draft Bankstown City Centre DCP which was adopted at the 26 November ordinary council meeting. For further details, please see the 26 November 2024 meeting agenda (item 6.1, pages 43-56) and minutes (item 6.1, pages 4-5) in the document library below.

The DCP for Bankstown City Centre came into effect on 27 November 2024, the same day that the Bankstown Transport Oriented Development (TOD) controls also commenced. These controls were brought in by the State Government. You can read more about the Bankstown TOD controls at the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure website here: here
