Parry Park playspace now open

27 September 2022

An exciting new playspace has arrived at Parry Park, providing opportunities for residents and visitors across all age groups to engage and play in their own way. In response to Council’s Open Space Strategy and Open Space Needs Review, Parry Park was identified as a prime location for a major recreation destination and sports hub to address the shortage of open space in the Lakemba area.

Parry Park, located between Punchbowl Road and Koala Road, is easily accessible by public transport. Recent road upgrades along Koala Road also provides parallel parking bays for those choosing to drive, including four accessible car parking spaces. As part of the Koala Road upgrades, the footpath was also upgraded to include a shared path, increasing the accessibility and facilities Parry Park offers.

Iconic play items were installed at Parry Park Playspace to cater to different ages and ability levels. These include a unique sand and water play area, a kids’ cycle track with challenging, bumpy terrain, a dynamic play zone with swings and a spinner and a passive lawn area for quiet play overlooking the entire area.

Features to encourage extended stays include family shelters, BBQ facilities and amenities such as baby change facilities.
