Consultation has concluded

Background

Calling all riders!

Council has recently received feedback from our community that they would like to see a BMX and mountain biking facility in our city. We have listened!

We are ensuring public safety and protecting our environment along the way. That is why Council is starting investigations on a more suitable location that causes no harm, just fun.

This Proposal

Council is starting the first phase of community consultation to gather some information about the needs and wants for a BMX and mountain biking facility. This will be an opportunity for bike riders and interested stakeholders to complete a survey as well drop a pin on the map to show us the location you would prefer. This feedback will provide a guide for council investigations to determine a suitable location for this type of activity and what the facility will look like/ offer.

Council’s approach also references our draft Sports Facilities Strategic Plan which states that we will complete a review to determine if there is a need to provide BMX or Mountain Biking Facilities. Please note: during consultation, council will need to take into consideration the numerous elements e.g. environmental impacts, the surrounding area of a location, the cost and facilities before selecting a suitable location.

Please note: this page will be updated once more information becomes available.
