Instructions, prizes, and information on how to enter form part of these Terms and Conditions (T&C). By entering this competition, entrants accept these T&Cs.

Eligibility

1. Councillors and employees of Canterbury Bankstown Council, Cred Consulting, Taverner Research Group and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.

2. Entries made on behalf of a third party will not be valid unless the entrant requires the assistance of a third party to enter.

3. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be excluded.

4. The Council reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence), and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, or who tampers with the entry process.

5. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Council’s sole discretion.

How to enter

6. Entrants must complete the CBCity Resilience Community Survey found at https://www.research.net/r/cbcityresilience or via phone with Taverner Research Group in full and include current contact details (i.e. name and email address).

7. Entries that do not include a valid name and email address will be disqualified.

8. The competition opens at 5 pm on Thursday, 25 January 2024 and closes at 5pm on Friday, 23 February 2024.

9. No entries will be accepted after 5 pm on Friday, 23 February 2024.

10. In the case of an insufficient number of entries being submitted, the competition may be extended at the Council’s sole discretion.


Conditions of Entry

11. Strictly one entry per person.

12. Guardians/Carers consent to the entry on behalf of individuals under their care.

13. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be disqualified.


Prizes

14. Three (3) x $100 E-gift cards.

15. Gift cards are non-transferable and not exchangeable.

16. The gift cards will be selected by the Council at its sole discretion.


Prize Draw

17. Three winners will be drawn at random from the database of eligible entries using a random generator formula on Thursday, 29 February 2024.


Winners' prize notification and delivery

18. The three (3) winning entries will be notified and will be emailed their E-gift card via the email address provided in their entry by 5pm on Friday, 1 March 2024.


Copyright and moral rights:

19. Entrants:

a) warrant that they are the owner of all copyright in their entry;

b) agree to indemnify the Council for any breaches of the above warranty;

c) grant the Council a royalty free, perpetual, worldwide, exclusive and irrevocable licence to use the entry for any legal purpose, including, but not limited to, the right for the Council to:

i. retain a digital and hardcopy of the entry;

ii. enlarge and adapt the entry to fit collateral pieces required for any marketing campaign;

iii. reproduce, publish and communicate the entry (or any part of it) in any media format, including but not limited to advertisements, street banners, postcards, brochures, posters, television/print media, website, merchandise, apparel and annual reports for the purposes of:

a. marketing, publicity and promotion of the CBCity Resilience Community Survey;

b. the catalogue, publicity and promotion of the Competition;

c. creating a non-commercial archive of the Competition;

d. other marketing and promotional purposes of the Council.

d) (if you are a selected winner) grant the Council the right to publish and communicate the entry in media articles, the City’s social media channels or any medium used as part of the CBCity Resilience Community Survey marketing campaigns without remuneration.

e) acknowledge and agree that they will not receive any remuneration from Council associated with the licence they provide to Council herein.

Disclaimer and Release

20. Council accepts no liability for any claims of intellectual property infringement and/or moral rights related to any entry.

21. Entrants warrant and agree to release Council from any claim made in respect of intellectual property infringement and/or moral rights related to their entry.


Privacy

22. The Council collects the entrant's personal information for entry into the Competition and for the award of the prize to the winners of the Competition and for the purpose of providing and marketing the Competition. Access to the information is restricted to the Council’s employees and other authorised personnel, however, the first name of the entrants of the Competition may be published and communicated alongside their entry as part of any related marketing campaign. The name and entry of the winners may also be published and communicated to the Public. The supply of this information is voluntary, however, if you are unwilling to provide this information, the Council may be unable to provide access to this Competition. Please contact Customer Service on 9707 9000 to access or correct your personal information. Any application will be considered in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy Act 1998. The Sustainable Future team is collecting this information and the Council will store it securely.
