Your Input Matters

In accordance with Schedule 1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act) and Section 29 of the Local Government Act 1993 (LG Act), councils must hold a public hearing when reclassifying public land from community to operational.

The public hearing will be chaired by an independent person with a report to be provided to Council following the hearing. We’ll make a copy of the report available on our Have Your Say website.

After considering the feedback from the public hearing, Council will then decide whether to rezone and reclassify the land so it can be used for commercial or other uses or sold and the proceeds of the sale used to fund improved community infrastructure.
