Updates on the Proposed Extension of the Existing Licenced Area for the Ice Skating Club

9 September 2025

Thanks for having your say on the Proposed Extension of the Existing Licenced Area for the Ice Skating Club.

What we did

Here’s how we engaged with you:

  • 50 letters sent to nearby properties in Phillips Avenue, Wonga Street, Wairoa Street and Canterbury Road
  • A Have Your Say (HYS) webpage which received 152 views and 86 unique visitors
  • Signage with a QR code and weblink to the HYS page placed at the site
  • Copies of the Deed of Variation to the licence agreement placed on display at the Campsie and Bankstown Customer Service Centres

What we heard

During the consultation period of 2 July to 30 July 2025, we received two submissions. One submission in support of Council enabling the development of the new ice skating rink and one with questions around the plans for the new play space.

Engagement outcomes

At the 26 August 2025 Ordinary Meeting, Council agreed to grant approval for the extended area by way of a Deed of Variation to the current three-year licence.

For more details, please see the 26 August 2025 meeting agenda (item 8.1, pages 77-80) and minutes (item 8.1, page 12) or access the pages directly in the document library below.
