Consultation has concluded

The City of Canterbury Bankstown (Council) with funding from the NSW Government through the Festival of Place Open Streets program, is hosting a community event/festival in the Campsie town centre in May 2022.

The purpose of the event is to attract new visitors to the centre and generate an uplift for local businesses and traders whilst, providing residents and festival goers with a traffic-free, weekend-long celebration.

The event will include stages featuring music and dance performances, roving bands and street performers, outdoor alfresco dining, additional outdoor furniture and more.

This event

This will be a unique event for the City, that will take place over two days in the Campsie town centre on Saturday 21 May 2022 and Sunday 22 May 2022.

The Campsie Street Festival operating hours for (both) Saturday and Sunday will be from 11am to 8pm and, the event site will include:

  • Beamish Street between South Parade and Evaline Street;
  • Amy Street between Beamish St and Amy Lane;
  • Anzac Mall, Anzac Park and a section of Anzac Square; and
  • Dewar Street between Anzac Square and Lilian Lane.

Road closures: This event site requires sections of roadway to be closed to traffic and, this will have an impact on parking in the centre. For business owners and operators, these road closures will have an access implications for the supply and delivery of goods.

Traffic Detour: Beamish Street vehicle traffic will be detoured to South Parade, Duke Street and Evaline Street as detailed below.

Hour of Operation: Road closures and the Beamish Street detour route will be in place from 8pm Friday 20 May to 5am Monday 23 May 2022.
