Consultation has concluded

Background

The Roberts Park Community Hub will be the new home of Greenacre Library and Knowledge Centre and a meeting place for the Greenacre community.

The project site is located in the Bankstown/Darani Ward on Waterloo Road, Greenacre, just south of Greenacre Public School. The site currently houses Greenacre Area Community Centre and Roberts Park carpark, which will both be redeveloped as part of this project.

The Early Learning Childhood Centre next to the site will continue to operate from its current location.

This Project

Roberts Park Community Hub

We can now share the concept design for a new multi-purpose community facility in Greenacre – the Roberts Park Community Hub (the Hub).

The existing carpark and community facility will be demolished, with a new carpark area and footpath developed, seamlessly linking the new facility to the existing park infrastructure.

This new community facility will be approximately 1,000 square metres in size and will include a:

  • 550 square metre multipurpose community centre;
  • 300 square metre library and knowledge centre; and
  • 150 square metre shared space accommodating the building foyer entrance and public toilets.

The outdoor areas around the facility will include a terrace connected to a multi-purpose hall and an outdoor reading room connected to the library. Landscaping, a new carpark and footpaths will link the facility to the existing Early Learning Centre, Greenacre Splash Park and Roberts Park Sporting Field.

Future opportunities

At the current time, there are no plans for changes to the existing play area (near the proposed Hub site) where the play space, skate and basketball equipment are located. However, we are taking this opportunity to better understand how you would like this outdoor space upgraded if funding is available in the future. You’re invited to join the conversation on the future of this area so we can better understand how you would like this outdoor space upgraded.

Let us know what you think of the concept design for Roberts Park Community Hub and the future opportunities for the existing play area by clicking the links below. Submissions for feedback close 5pm, Thursday 15 February 2024.
