Consultation has concluded

Recreation upgrades at Tasker Park will provide spaces for people of all ages, abilities and interests to enjoy. Based on community feedback, plans include a full-sized basketball court, outdoor fitness equipment, and passive areas with more trees, landscaping and seating. These improvements will complement the new Canterbury Leisure and Aquatic Centre and the new play space.

Key design elements include:

  • A full-sized basketball court
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
  • Landscaped spaces with seating
  • Passive green space
  • New shade trees with understorey planting

In addition, a new passive recreation space will replace the existing play space, which will be removed and a new play space constructed as part of the precinct upgrades. This space will include additional trees, landscaping and seating, as well as accommodating overflow parking for the Canterbury Leisure & Aquatic Centre during periods of high use.

You can view our plans below and have your say until 31 October as part of the wider Tasker Park Precinct consultation. Your feedback will help us shape final designs and ensure these upgrades meet the needs of our community.
