Background

In 2018 and reaffirmed again in 2022, the people of Canterbury-Bankstown helped us create a Vision for the City to be Thriving, Dynamic and Real.

To deliver the Vision, you told us you wanted CBCity to be:

Safe & Strong

SAFE AND STRONG
A proud inclusive community that unites, celebrates and cares.

Clean and green

CLEAN AND GREEN
A cool, clean and sustainable city with healthy waterways and natural areas.

PROSPEROUS AND INNOVATIVE
A smart and evolving city with exciting opportunities for investment and creativity.

MOVING AND INTEGRATED
An accessible city with great local destinations and many options to get there.

HEALTH AND ACTIVE
A motivated city that nurtures healthy minds and bodies.

LIVEABLE AND DISTINCTIVE
A well designed, attractive city which preserves the identity and character of local villages.

LEADING AND ENGAGED
A well-governed city with brave and future focused leaders who listen.

At the 26 April 2022 Ordinary Meeting, Council authorised the exhibition of the draft Operational and Organisational planning documents that will guide our efforts over the coming years to ensure we deliver the community’s Vision for Canterbury-Bankstown.

This exhibition period commences on Monday 2 May 2022 and closes at 5pm on Friday 3 June 2022.

Draft CBCity 2036

CBCity 2036

CBCity 2036 details the community’s vision and aspirations for the next decade and beyond. It addresses four key questions.

  • Where are we now?
  • Where do we want to be in 2036?
  • How will we get there?
  • How will we know when we have arrived?

This is a great plan to look at if you want to know where the City is heading and key local, state and national stakeholders that will play a role in making it a reality.

Draft 2022-25 Delivery Program and 2022/23 Operational Plan incorporating the Budget and Schedule of Fees and Charges; and Resourcing Strategies for Finance, Assets and Workforce.

Delivery and Operation Plan

The Delivery Program, Operational Plan, and Resourcing Strategies represent Council’s response to CBCity 2036. They:

  • identify our priorities;
  • detail the strategies and actions for which we will be responsible;
  • provide detailed budget and funding allocations;
  • show the important Council projects and works happening in the City or in your suburb; and
  • show how we will measure our performance and report back to the community on our progress.

The Operational Plan contains detailed information on the Budget, Revenue Policy, and Schedule of Fees and Charges for 2022/23.

Draft Community Engagement Framework, Policy and Toolkit

CBCity 2036

The Community Engagement Framework, Policy and Toolkit details Council’s commitment to ensuring better decision making through engagement with the community and, ensures we carry out all community consultation and engagement in a flexible, respectful, collaborative, consistent, credible, and educational manner.
